I would vote for Smog City and El Segundo. Phantom Carriage, Scholb, Yorkshire Square, State, LA Aleworks, and Three Weaver's are all options as well...Heyo Homies. I'm staying on Venice Beach till Sunday and planning to hit FW and Monkish, if I'm trying to hit 3 more within a 30 minute drive, what would you recommend?
Second Smog and El Segundo. Yorkshire Square is close to monkish if you are into english cask ales.I would vote for Smog City and El Segundo. Phantom Carriage, Scholb, Yorkshire Square, State, LA Aleworks, and Three Weaver's are all options as well...

Uber/Lyft is your friendHeyo Homies. I'm staying on Venice Beach till Sunday and planning to hit FW and Monkish, if I'm trying to hit 3 more within a 30 minute drive, what would you recommend?
Smog is walking distance from Monkish, so you cant beat that. Phantom Carriage is hit and miss, but a pretty awesome vibe. El Segundo is fantastic. I have not been to King Harbor yet, but the cans I have received were quite good.Heyo Homies. Hey, all! I'm visiting LA for the first time in like... 15 years, and am looking for a few recs for places to have a beer or good cup of coffee. I'm staying in what I think is the West Hollywood/Beverly Grove neighborhood, but will have a car. So far, the closest option I've found is Blue Palms Brewhouse.
Not looking to spend an hour in line waiting for hazy IPA cans, but very interested in trying some of your local beer that I've not had, which is most. Have heard very nice things about HPB, which might be a bit too far out of my way, so if there's a local spot w/ some on tap that would be great.
I've identified a few nearby coffee shops to check out, but am very interested in other recommendations too. So far, I have: Coffee Commissary, Verve, Demitasse Coffee, and maybe Go Get Em Tiger.
Will do some touristy things (The Getty, Warner Bros studio tour, etc.), and so I am planning on a little bit of travel around town. The talk of your crazy traffic frightens me some, but I'll make the best of it.
Surly Goat is in the area, if you're just looking for a good beer bar.Hey, all! Agree here. Unfortunately you won't find much in the way of beer bars/breweries in the immediate area you are staying. But with a little bit of a drive (absolutely worth it) you can hit HPBBar Nine for coffee in Culver City is another solid place to try; as for HPB and/or Monkish, you should really go to the source.
