also regarding nelson showers, all those beers showed their booze too much. but this might just be my preference toward single ipas over anything bigger.
I usually prefer singles over doubles, too. One thing I've found with boozy DIPAs is I like them better around 4 weeks old than fresh. The boozy sweetness calms down a bit and the hops come forward. Of course, a couple more weeks and it starts to go the other way.

The Good Beer Company is releasing a new beer in bottles when they open at noon on Saturday. Roble 34 is a barrel fermented grisette brewed in collaboration with Charles Rapadas. It is packaged in 750 mL bottles and will be around $14 per bottle.

Noble I Love It is miles beyond any hoppy beer they have ever brewed.
Geoi of Bine and Vine said it was very very close to their 3rd Anniversary beer brewed by Alpine. Considering that's probably the second or third best beer they've ever brewed, I'm definitely ISO this.

Anybody check out the Cherry Spazz release? Curious to see what everyone thought of the beer.

Can confirm that Noble I Love It is the truth.

I opened a Cherry Spazz last night. HPB's streak of quality bottle releases remains intact. For 4.2%, it's very flavorful and pleasantly tart without being an acid bath. While there's lots of cherry, I just wish it were a little sweeter/jammier. Still regretting the fact I didn't max out on Uncontrollable.

DG is overrated IMO.
I wouldn't say they're overrated, but when you're putting out like 75 new releases every month you're bound to release a few duds. Nearly every recent release I've had from them has been an overcarbed, blah mess, but then you have a recent beer like Biere Rose which is ******* phenomenal, and all is forgiven.

Cherry Spazz is better than most De Gardes I've had lately. Supremely well-balanced and great fruit flavor.

What de gardes have you had lately? I mean, it's better than Imp Cherry Bu, but I thought that was one of Degardes misses.

Biere Rose was so jammy jam.

Imp Cherry Blu, Imp Blackberry, Imp Boysenberry, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head.

well then maybe i'm just a dark berry fanatic...thought Imp Blackberry was world class.
The bottle I had was overcarbed (to the point where the bubbles actually hurt my tongue) and tart, but I got nothing remotely resembling a blackberry out of it. Didn't help that I opened a Casey Blackberry Fruit Stand shortly after and it blew my taste buds away.

Definitely some bottle variation on that Imp Blackberry then. We did both Casey Blackberry and Imp Blackberry at a blackberry tasting, Imp edged out the fruitstand. No carb issues that I recall.

Yeah, it was just an odd showing for De Garde. Also the first gusher I've ever had from them.

Y'all are making me want to open a bottle of Cherry Spazz today.

In LA for the night, any decent beer stores in the Studio City area? Looking for local, limited releases if available.... Thanks!!

More HPB love here. It's quickly becoming my favorite LA brewery. Stopped by last night to pick up Cherry Spazz (have not tried it yet) and had to get the fried chicken sandwich again plus Achiever (photo 1). So good but my favorite drink of the night was sun soaked. I had to go for a second glass (photo 2).

My friend last night said the Sun Soaked is drinking really nice right now. Will have to get a pour soon. Actually drank a non-HPB beer at the Hermosillo last night for the first time in probably six months. Had a Craftsman barrel aged sour saison that was really quite nice.

Also heads up, anyone that bought Nebraska with Brett bottles, they seem to be becoming increasingly brett forward. The bottle I had with wuntrikpony about two weeks ago was awesome but the bottle I had on Monday lacked the balance and complexity of the first. Another friend had the same experience. But maybe its just bottle to bottle variation though.
