I didn't have time to boil some sugar/water yesterday when I racked my scottish 60 to the keg as a friend stopped by with his baby. I want to add some priming sugar now can I just boil it up, let it cool a bit and dump it in? 1/2 the amount of sugar I know. Should I stir/shake up the keg a bit beforehand?

I do not think it would be a problem. Since it is in a keg, you do not need to stir. If you were bottling yes, because you would want the same quantity of priming sugar in each bottle, but in the keg this is not necessary.
