I guess I am confused because I didn't think you used warm kegs with jockey boxes. I thought you always kept the keg on ice while using it. I am also confused why it would be $600.

Sure you could- that's the whole point of the jockey box. If you already have the kegs chilled, you don't need a cold plate system.

I was going to buy a jockey box with two faucets and a cold plate, but it costs about $300 to make one (retail prices for the cold plate, tubing, faucets, cooler, etc). That was for a "cooler" type jockey box. I can't see how many cold plates it has in that fridge, but I would imagine that it's a reasonable cost for that set up. Of course, if I had room for a dorm fridge, and the power to it, I'd just get a regular kegerator. The beauty of a Jockey Box is being able to serve beer at picnics and other places without hauling a kegerator.

makes sense. I guess it has 2 taps and that would be a lot less to move outside then a kegorator that can hold 2 full size kegs. I had just never seen a jockey box like that before.

Thanks for the replies.
