Actually about 10 years earlier. She always hated the smell and mess. Just one of many reasons she had to go.

so you actually have a digital density meter, on a serious note? if so what's it like using it? i'm just a poor boy, with poor boy brewing equipment! i'd love to hear some cool stories about a digital hydro! i just have a digital refrac i got open-box....

do you think they will become popular? maybe open up a used market for them, or bring the price down?

I'm starting to think how many beers I could brew for the price of one of these maybe not worth it lol. Maybe cheap $40 refractometer will do since I already have a tilt?

cheap $40 refractometer

that's a top notch refrac! i spent like 15-20 on one, and the clamp that held the plastic thing on it broke after just a couple uses....i haunted ebay for a deal on a MA871 for a few months and ended up getting one for $90, i like it....little bit later i saw one go for $60 too....if you're willing to spend $40, i'd hold out till a deal on a digital one shows up..

it's labor day man i'd willing to go up to $70 on the ebay listing and ship it to you?

Yes the Easydens which I've had for about a year now. It's super simple to use, just draw the sample into the supplied syringe, inject into the meter and read the temperature compensated result on the app. If measuring carbonated samples simply fill the syringe, cap with finger and draw the plunger back to degas then inject. When done shoot a couple shots of water through the unit and thats it.

I seriously doubt there would be much of a used market since it would be the last thing anyone would sell. Sometimes MB has pretty good sale pricing.

so you do have to have a device capable of running an app to get a read out...hmmm

I'm fine with the app thing if it saves money on redundant displays and computational power. It's kind of the way of the future and therefore going to be hard to avoid.

i do have a android tablet that cost me $40, RCA something or other. but i do a damn good job of avoiding people! (except around here :mug:)

I saw the EasyDens advertised when it first came out and thought it looked like a really neat idea, even though an expensive "investment". Have ease of use and accuracy lived up to your expectations?

The accuracy and repeatability are amazing. Sample preparation is stupid simple. Press one button, inject and you have your number. It is without a doubt far superior to any other method.

The Easydens was definitely one of my money well spent items that seemed like a huge "waste" of money at the time. I've had the previous version for just over 3 years now.

Good to know thanks for your input on this!
