Hi All,

I'm making a DIPA and just pitched a single dry packet of US-05 into my 1.077 wort on Sunday. Is that enough? I feel like I probably should have used 2 packs.

A couple months ago I harvested a mason jar of US-05 from the trub off a previous batch. I rinsed it a couple times, and it's been sitting in the fridge for a few months. So I supposed one option I have is to take that out and toss it in too? I dont have any DME or LME to make a starter and I'm not sure I'd need to.

What would you do? Is it better to pitch something soon while it's only been in primary a couple days , or should I wait and see how it finishes out?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Chris

I routinely pitch one hydrated packet of US-05 into 5.5g of 65 point wort, and the fermentation is consistently complete.
I'd be surprised if 10 more points would cause an issue...

Cheers!

Thanks @day_trippr! I hope you're right or I'm going to make one sweet IPA!

Well since someone hasn't already jumped in, I guess I'll take care of it:

I'm sure it's ruined, probably hazardous, send it to me and I will take care of disposal free of charge.
