Hi all!

This past Christmas, my girlfriend surprised me with a class at my LHBS for their introduction to brewing class, along with a nice beginner's kit with most of the essentials. I had talked a lot about wanting to brew beer over the past couple years thinking it would be fun, but it took her final push over the edge before I really got into it. I've only got a couple extract brews under my belt, enjoying both immensely.

My browser history portends much more in the coming future, and a lot of that reading was happening here on these forums. So, I wanted to join in the conversation, ask some questions here and there, but mostly soak up all of your knowledge as I get started in this world.

Many thanks for everyone's help already, and :mug:!
Tyler

Welcome to the forum, there are some great people here and they will help. So don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks all! I'm in Brooklyn, learning the ropes on a mini apartment stove top. At least it's gas!

Welcome Tyler, from Suffolk County. I'm I'm using my stove indoors as well, but I'm pretty sure I have a little more room. Anyway, there's lots of good info and good people on the forum.

Welcome Tyler. I am a Brooklyn Brewer also (Sheepshead Bay). Did you take the class at Bitter and Esters? Lots of good people on this forum with lots of great info. :mug:

Welcome Tyler. I'm in upper Manhattan but spend a lot of time in Brooklyn. Maybe I'll run into you at Bitter and Esters. You've got an exciting hobby in front of you.

Bitter and Esters it was! Dave led the class and made it informative/seem like the most enjoyable thing to do -- not surprising a lot of people get into brewing in this city. They've been a great resource as I've been getting started brewing.

Yo
Lawnguyland here, with the family roots via Queens, but don't let them know I go to Brooklyn for great beer and BBQ.

Some cool small batch stuff happening in the Brooklyn Home Brew world. I got my copy of Mary Izetts book on fast fermenting.

Welcome
