Alex doesn't actually drink beer. The more impressive thing is this is your first post since July 21st. Welcome back, lurker!
Haha I can't go this weekend either but it's been 7 weeks since they bottled. It has to be close....
October. Still working to clear some space in the cellar...When you leave for your west coast trip?
So you mean it won't improve at all...Trust me. Hold onto it for 4-6 months minimum. I think it'll improve like Fen Tao
Looks like all the Houston mules are gonna have to make a field trip after SMABRD.
So will the Austin ones...Looks like all the Houston mules are gonna have to make a field trip after SMABRD.
We'll just be going home.So will the Austin ones...
I might go next weekend if I can swing it. If someone wants to carpool, hit a sloth up.
I'm planning on posting an ISO for this beer but have zero clue on what to offer. was this release an immediate sellout? is a 3000 bottle release from JK a standard release?Vulgar Affectation was lemony and more interesting than Natural Union. I bet if will develop nicely. Super hot day but it was a bonus to get a little pour of MvB from the cask they tapped for the Alamo Drafthouse event last night.

3000 bottles, $12 each, limit 3. Can send you one for a label + cash if it's still there this weekend.
Can open...A little off topic, but does anyone know the origin of calling the beer Fen Tao. I was curious about the Chinese lettering so I googled it. Google translate converts 分桃 to "dividing peaches" (which seems to make a lot of sense) but the much more common online translation is "homosexual". I see the rainbow shirts being sold this weekend so I assume there is some meaning behind it. Just wondering.
There was an explanation up on the JK facebook page, with the translation and explaination. I dont see it now. Not sure if deleted, or I just cant find it.
mattchow told me his grandmother or mom asked him something to the tune of "Why are you drinking Homosexuals?" when she saw the Fen Tao bottle.A little off topic, but does anyone know the origin of calling the beer Fen Tao.
