How long do the fruited sours tend to last? I'll be in town Labor Day weekend and will visit the brewery that Friday, is it likely Fen Tao will still be available?

Also of note, if anyone else is around that weekend and is looking to trade I've got some freshy NE IPA's (Gandhi Bot, Trillium, Tree House etc) i'll be bringing down.

Vulgar Affectation was lemony and more interesting than Natural Union. I bet if will develop nicely. Super hot day but it was a bonus to get a little pour of MvB from the cask they tapped for the Alamo Drafthouse event last night.
I'm planning on posting an ISO for this beer but have zero clue on what to offer. was this release an immediate sellout? is a 3000 bottle release from JK a standard release?

Edit: I should say that I'm interested in this beer for the horehound. srs.

Also thought it was very good but it didn't seem like it was super popular. I think people may have just been saving money for the fen Tao release and you may see more bottles move this weekend. I also really liked Vernal Dichotomous and that's been at the brewery for a while now under similar circumstances so what do I know?

At 5k bottles, I would have guessed is it would have lasted to a third weekend... Just because some people wont be as rushed, knowing it will last at least 2 weekends. But, I guess the 2 bottle limit will put a dent in it.

But Ill be there tomorrow night. Being able to get 4 bottles between me and the GF is really nice. Makes the round trip(9 hours) worth it. A couple more La Vie is a bonus.

A little off topic, but does anyone know the origin of calling the beer Fen Tao. I was curious about the Chinese lettering so I googled it. Google translate converts to "dividing peaches" (which seems to make a lot of sense) but the much more common online translation is "homosexual". I see the rainbow shirts being sold this weekend so I assume there is some meaning behind it. Just wondering.

mattchow told me his grandmother or mom asked him something to the tune of "Why are you drinking Homosexuals?" when she saw the Fen Tao bottle.

My wife is so gonna buy that rainbow shirt.
