I think I would rate this higher than B2K. Not as sweet. Notes of cherry and caramelized sugar. Looking forward to trying this again down the line.

dammit saw it on a table at the share today, when i finally made it was gone, ever saw it again. hopefully i track one down in the bay area

Decided to go 2-2 this weekend on beach barleywines. This is a 2016 bottle. Super smooth, minimal heat, moderate sweetness, Belgian yeast really coming through. I'm gonna be drunk if I finish this whole bottle.

Might be the best 2001 I've had. Minimal yam/sweet potato, less oxidation than expected.
Had one of these last week and I can report it was also the best 2001 I've had, by a long shot. Maybe they are in the perfect place right now. I have a few others and may open them soon because this bottle was so nice.

Granted, I didn't have any humpback whales in sight, so what do I know?

Yep, opinion invalid absent presence of whales.

Non barrel aged American style BW. Not sure if that's what Tradehouse hypers are after but it's got a 1 bottle PP limit so there you go.

Nose is dark fruits and loads of caramel with some chocolate malt. Taste is not what I was expecting. Very nice caramel sweetness along side figs and some light fruitiness from the hops. An ever so slight hop bite but it's honestly pretty restrained. It's definitely not English in style but it is not even close to touching the realm of something like a Bigfoot. Really well balanced and drinkable. This is actually great. not earth shattering but I was expecting this to be a hoppy mess.

The name of that beer reminds me of a song that we used to sing at my Jewish preschool.

I like Tree House (the new facility is very impressive and cool to visit) but I thought that beer was a mess. It's thin/watery and sweet without any of the complexity of the best barleywines. Between 4 of us, we drank half the bottle before dumping it.

Ahhhh, have seen this one making the rounds. Nice to know it's a good one, but people seem to want way too much for it. Kinda like gorgoroth at this point.
I tried this the other day. It's way too hot. It wasn't enjoyable at all for me. The apple brandy barleywine they released at the same time is far superior IMO

I'm just amazed you guys got a bottle out to SD already and drank it. Didn't it just come out this past Friday?

We did a quick VT/MA trip last weekend to visit a bunch of breweries. We stopped in at Tree House on Saturday and opened a bottle later in the day since we were all curious about it.
