All grain Honey brown ale: plastic for 6 days, racked into glass for 3 days. Today I took a look and noticed what I think is mold on the top.
The last beer I brewed was a pumpkin ale, and that too had mold on it. I chalked the mold up to the fruit in the beer.
However this one is a honey brown ale and there is no reason there should be mold in it.
I have done dozens of all grain batches and these are the first two to have gone wrong. Although the pumpkin tasted great and the mold did not seem to have any effect on the beer, I do not want to get into the habit of brewing moldy beer.
I made sure to do long soaks with starsan and scrub my gear after the pumpkin and still I get mold...
Any thoughts/words of wisdom.
