Is it a good idea to use several, immersion heaters for home brewing?

I am wondering if it is a good idea to buy 2 or 3 of this:

and use them for brewing....heating up the water for the mash tun and sparging and for the boil too. Is it viable?

Many times I see sellers say "dont use it in metal containers"....wondering why they say that?

There’s no way that thing is 2000W. I have one that is very similar, I just measured it at 258W at 120VAC.

Good for a cup of boiling water.

You can buy heat sticks to do exactly what you're suggesting, just need more power.
