Is grape juice that sweet?

you need to add sugar to the juice and if your gonna get serious you will need a hydrometer
 
Wine grapes are indeed that sweet. Or rather, they have that much sugar in them. That's the only fruit that has enough natural sugar so that no additional sugar is used.

Other grapes, like concord or catawba grapes, do not have enough sugar and sugar is added to bring them to the correct starting gravity.
 
I tried the Cayuga grapes fresh off the vine. Very tart. I was surprised cuz the wine is sweet.
 
My parents dug up their grape wine last year because the grapes were tart didn't taste so great. I'ld bet it was a good wine grape wine. Such a waste.
