Investigating Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus) turned up some interesting info, in case anyone is interested:

The least expensive place I found reasonable dried quantities (you want sun dried moss (really red algae) for the concentrated carrageenan in it. If you had pure fresh Irish Moss you would need a heck of a lot more than 1 tsp to do the same job 1 tsp of dried will do with 15 min left to the boil. Anyhow the least expensive place was at Amazon.

Apparently Irish Moss is also good luck and if you keep some in your pocket the next time you are at the craps table who knows... you could come up big... oh, you need to keep it in a green flannel bag (in case your interested)
