Hey folks,

So I've probably got 8 batches or so of extract under my belt, and while I still lack the equipment to go all-grain, I'm about done with the world of NB ready-made kits. There's one I like a lot (Highrise IPA) and a few that are fine and a couple stinkers. More than anything I'm just the kind of person that likes to do things himself, as I imagine all homebrewers are by definition. So I'm looking for some feedback on a recipe I put together on Brewer's Friend:

I'm interested in any red flags you guys see in the grain bill, and then your best educated guesses about how the hops might play together. I'm looking for something pretty clean, not overpoweringly bitter (keeping in mind I love bitter) with a bright, fresh, aromatic hop experience. I love commercial beers I've had with galaxy in them, and hear it plays well with other complimentary hops, thus the mosaic. Thanks a ton for your help!

I just brewed something very similar at it came out amazing. Mine was all grain and the only real differences are I used cascade as one of my aroma hops instead of mosaic, and I split the grain bill up between america 2 row and white wheat malt. The Chinook does bitter it up a bit but the galaxy and cascade give it a nice fruity/citrus aspect. I'm sure you will enjoy it. just keep your fermentation in the mid 60's and it will come out nice and clean with the wlp001.

Cool, thanks a ton guys. I'll cut the grain to .5 and brew away. I'll let ya know how it goes in about 5 weeks.

I'd scale the crystal back even further to .25 or .3 given the batch size.

Also, I'd simplify the malt bill and just use all extra-light DME. I'd also be adding about 10-15% dextrose as well.

I'd scale the crystal to 0-6oz as you have enough LME and DME in there. Hops sound great. Never had Galaxy and Mosaic at once.

Looks good to me! I haven't had Galaxy hops, but I've used mosaic hops and love it. I brewed an IPA with mosaic and citra as my aroma/flavoring hops and it is just delicious! In fact I'm about to adjust the recipe to make it a double IPA and have considered bittering with Chinook. Let us know how it turns out!! I think it will be great!
