I'm looking at a recipe the calls for milde ale malt (not pale ale), and brown ale malt. Can someone tell me what malts would fall into these categories?

What kind of beer is the recipe making?

"Brown ale malt" sounds British, so "milde ale malt" could be Maris Otter or Golden Promise.

One is a brown ale, calls for 8.5 lbs of Mild ale malt, and 4 lbs of biscuit malt, and .5 lb of brown ale malt.
The other recipe is for a stout that calls for 9.5 lbs of mild ale malt, along with black malt and dark crystal malt.
