Brewed an amber ale about two weeks ago. Used safale us 05. Does it look infected to you? The pockets of air on the top concern me. Krausen has been dropped for about 7 days now. I hope it's not cause this was the first time I controlled ferm temps with my new ferm chamber.

Yoop. I thought that was the flash reflection or a light reflection. I assumed it was just yeast sediment similiar to my post a couple of weeks ago when I had fermentation start up again.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the yeast 'rafts' look ok. There looks to be some white slimy/ropy stuff in there, and if so, that is not ok.

Here's some better pictures. No slime from what I could see. Let me know what you think. Oh and did a gravity check. 1.014

No that's not light issues. The lights make more of a hot spot in the picture. The white around the solids is more of a matte texture than anything slimy or ropey

It's not slimy at all tho. Woukd that make a huge difference? And okay so let's say this is an infection. Anything I can do to salvage?

Drink it quick. If it starts to get overcarbed, or seem a bit "off" after a while, drink it faster!

Drinking beer quick is one of the things in good at in life! Would you recommend crashing and using gelatin? Or rack from underneath the surface?

I have never used gelatin, so I can't say about its use, although many others have. I've just racked and left stuff behind that I didn't want in the beer.

Just bottle a couple cases take it to a friends house and drink the hell out of it.

I think ur fine..my blonde ale looked like this cold crash a few days it cleared...
