Three days ago we got the news that the environment my son is in utero may have unhealthy levels of bile salts. So, given how far along my wife is, 37 weeks, and how good all the baby's vitals are, we were told to grab our go bags and come in for induction.

That was Monday evening. We are still here. I know every nurse, most of the doctors, and have drank perhaps a hundred cups of coffee.

Finally, about an hour ago, water broke... So we have progress at least, and we are ankle deep in friends and family, so that is good.... But... We are frigging ready.

No point to posting other than to vent.

Thanks for listening.

We didn't know you had it in you. Or anywhere else. j/k. Congratulations to you and you wife. When things start to settle down around your house, (not!), you will have to brew the new batch of Mead that will celebrate your son's ability to tip one back with Dad, and/or Mom.

Good luck!

Shenanigans!

My first son was born in 1978 and I've described the whole ordeal - ummm - "blessed event" - so many times since then there's no way to forget it now.

I learned that one should always trust the nurses, and that doctors are idiots just like everyone else...

Cheers! ;)

Since there has not been an update, I am hoping the eviction has been carried out successfully and the wee-goodness is healthy and sleeping well (who am I kidding, babies don't sleep), as are the missuz and CG as well. I will tip my coffee to you and yours as it is way too early for me to have a beer.

Good luck to you, the missus & the wee one Creamy, hope everything goes well & everybody is healthy & happy as can be. And an early congrats to you & Mrs Creamy. :mug:
Regards, GF.

Well, if anyone cant vent, it's you, Creamy!

Hard to believe it takes so long to induce labor. I think most of the ones I've heard of were going good after about 24 hours. They may have been farther along though.

Wel, after 3 days and 4 nights the little buzzard still wasnt coming... so c-section it was. David Frank is currently 7lbs 14 oz and measuring 19.5 inches. He's getting some extra special care since his sugar was a little low, but other than that, knock wood, he is healthy as a mule. His mom is recovering at her own pace (morphine is a hell of a drug) but she should be ready to come home on Monday.

Pics coming soon.

God Im tired.

Congrats. After an induction and a csection for two kids, I understand your lack of energy. I raise my glass to you!

Sweet. James,. Congrats, mostly to your heroic wife.

I thought about reminding you of some of the stuff you've posted here in the past, but nah.

Enjoy the late nights and early mornings. See you round the forum.

Unfortunately David frank seems to have picked up an infection (most likely from spending more than 24 hours in the womb after water broke). He's doing great, but has at least two weeks of antibiotics and iv glucose and electrolytes.

We really want to bring him home with us sooner than later, but I would much rather he come home healthy than come home soon.

Mark my words....

-sigh-

IT WILL PASS

Congrats on his arrival. Seems like things take forever now but take it all in as they grow up way too quickly.

Topical or systemic infection? The most effective antibiotic for a just newborn is it's own mother's milk.

I'm hoping that he will come out in full health. And congrats!

Congrats, we're all thinking and praying for your little one. Don't worry, after several months of sleepless nights, the hospital time will be forgotten!

Hopefully you have a solid beer pipeline. I often say Scotch and Bourbon got me through the first year...didn't homebrew back then. :mug:

No pics, it didn't happen!

More to come... but optimism high, knock wood.

Damn... I'm an idiot, but apparently I can make one hell of a baby...
