chads99svt and myself did a double brew day the other weekend. Doing an Imperial Pumpkin ale (9.5%) and another batch of my rye pale ale. Great day overall and so far the pumpkin has turned out incredible.

canned pumpkin

lots of pumpkin ale drank that night. was good research for our product to know what we didn't want.

Green cardamom to replace some of the typical spices

Roasted it to take some of the minty flavor out. Turned out great

Ground it down and put it through a strainer to get a nice powder

Pumpkin cooked and ready to go in the mash in the morning

Graham cracker crumbs toasted for the mash as well

Vanilla bean to help bring out the graham cracker crust flavor

I don't have to many pics of the actual brewday, but here's a couple..

One, big, starchy mess lol

Measuring out our spices

and the brown sugar

Looks like a good day! I would love to do a pumkin flovaroed brew, but just starting out, it seems a bit overwhelming.. haha. Out of the pumkin beers your drank that night,.. which was your favorite?

Shipyard's although it was a tad heavy on cinnamon.

DFH's was proably second, but there was hardly any pumpkin. Tasted more like a mildly spiced brown ale.
