Looking to make a distinctive Imperial IPA (not a double IPA). I love the malt flavor in Lagunitas' IPA line that is present from the IPA to Hop Stupid. I've been working on it for a while with different brews. I'm not trying to clone Lagunitas, just come close to the same malty goodness. This is my latest attempt and what I think will be closest to a deliciously malty Imperial IPA:

13 gal.
OG 1.083
FG 1.017
ABV 8.7%
IBU ~75

18 lbs. Rhar Pale
10 lbs. Bests Munich
6 lbs. Red wheat
2 lbs. Patagonia C50/60

2 oz Warrior 60 min

.5 oz Columbus 30 min

1 oz Centennial 15 min
.5 oz Nelson Sauvin 15 min

.5 oz Columbus 10 min
.5 oz Cascade 10 min
.5 oz Nelson Sauvin 10 min
.5 oz Simcoe 10 min

.5 oz Cascade 5 min
1 oz Centennial 5 min
.5 oz Columbus 5 min
.5 oz Nelson Sauvin 5 min
.5 oz Simcoe 5 min

1 oz Cascade Whirlpool
.5 oz Columbus Whirlpool
.5 oz Nelson Sauvin Whirlpool
1 oz Simcoe Whirlpool

I Haven't decided on dry hops yet...maybe Cascade and Citra or willamette.

I may brew this tomorrow, but I'm open to suggestions.

I think next time I may try some victory malt.

Google "Lagunitas Hop Stoopid Northern Brewer". Lagunitas recently issued a clone challenge for all attending the NHC this year, and basically gave out the recipe. Awesome guys.
