So, for the past week I have been enjoying my first batch of amber ale. I'm so proud of it, that I gave a bottle to my boss and my brother-in-law.

Here are comments I heard before they knew it was homebrew.

"This is f**k*ing great" - boss

"Is this Sprecher Amber?" - brother-in-law

Not bad for an extract kit. Starting an IPA tonight.

Congrats. I'm waiting on my first to finish. A, hopefully, clean, crisp, refreshing german kolsch

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. It just gets better from here. Congrats guys, now it's time to scheme as to how to obtain all the other equipment you "need".

Im about to take my all-grain test next week, graduating from extract. Dont let anyone knock you for using an extract recipe, I've done a bunch of them, and they gave me a firm grounding in basic skills (sanitizing, fermentation techniques, e.g.) with the necessary leniency that would still allow for a decent batch, thus discouraging further attempts. Good luck!
