65 and sunny in Central Oregon, and while I love this weather, it should be snowing dammit! We had a week of winter, and that was in late fall. This whole area is going to be on fire this summer.
Spent 3 months in Basrah. Normally 118 f and 50% humidity like the rest of Iraq so annoying but tolerable.for four days in August the winds came off the gulf...123 f and 85% humidity is soul-crushing. The plus part(if there is one) no alerts so we never had to endure that in full battle rattle in a bunker.
Even Dubai in summer is terrible. You walk out of the hotel and are almost instantly damp. 114f and 90% humidity means you normal body temp is below the dewpoint. You do the math.
No wonder everyone over there is so angry.
Thanks for your service.
Exactly. And while the summers at their worst in MD will be sticky, it won't be 90°+ for most of 4 months...I have ran out here while kid of hot and muggy - not too bad. Different for sure.
I lived in Chico, CA in 2006 during a big 112 degree heat wave and the dry heat I'll take over the humidity here any day. The shade feels ok in dry heat but you still sweat in the shade with 90%+ humidity. I guess it's all about what you're used to.
The sun came out today..............hello, old friend.
