I jumped right into All-grain home brewing a few yrs back with limited success and have not done a brew in over 3 summers now......

Started to get the Bug a few wks back, BUT want to change my thinking into the whole process... I looked back and re-read the July-Aug & Oct 2014 Brew Mag "1 Malt + Hop" & "BIG Batch small Batch Brewing"

What I want to try to do this go around is to simplify the process and learn what each ingredient adds to the brew... and to fully understand the complete home brewing process..

I want to try SMaSH 1Gallon BIAG brews.....

Were can I find SMaSH 1Gallon BIAG brew recipes ??? Or how do I convert 5G All-Grain recipes to my needs ??

Just divide all ingredient weights by 5 :mug:

Good luck to ya! I started out with 1 gallon batches too and quickly switched to 5 gallon. I hope they come out good!

I've been messing around with Beersmith and it's pretty useful. There are several 1-gallon recipes that I've found here:

also

http://brooklynbrewshop.com/beer-making-mixes

and kits from other places too!

Welcome back. I was off about 25 years between my first batch and getting back in to it! lol

Amazing! Things have changed since back in the day huh? My uncle brewed in the 60's and 70's says he can't believe everything that is available!

+1 for Beersmith. Great tool and it has everything you need to help your brewing process, Calculators (temp conversions, Hydrameter temp corrections, Yeast pitch. etc), Ingredient Info, Style Info, Scaling feature which would be great for you in the 1 Gal. batches and so much more. It does cost money but try the free trial version first and play around with it. I couldn't imagine starting brewing again and not having it as a resource. There website is pretty good too, great Podcast with all-stars in the brewing world.

Another +1 for Beersmith. I actually just purchased a copy last night because my trial was about to expire and it's been extremely useful so far.

For kicks, Birdmanbrewing is having a sale right now and you can get it for $19 instead of $27 directly from Brewsmith, and it was fulfilled within an hour of ordering.
