Lie back, get some vegetables inside you and get back to being yourself soon. :)

I though that sounded kinda weird. Good advice ...in a creepy way...and having nothing to do with back problems;) EAT the veggies yoop. You'll be alright.

And it begins. I'm actually feeling a little sorry for Bob now ;)

Well, that wasn't too bad. Except that I did warn him in advance that I wanted to "put 20 pounds of **** in an 18 pound bag".

He must not have believed me, nor did he believe that 23.25 pounds of grain and 1.25 quarts of water, would fill a 10 gallon Igloo cooler to just slightly overflowing.

He was not amenable to testing the limits even though I stood next to him with a mash paddle in a threatening manner.

One GREAT thing came out of this, though! After he got done criticizing my mathematical ability and my ability to rationalize spatial relationships, he decreed that I MUST get a larger MLT, and he thought a keg with a false bottom would be exactly what I need.

I am now in the market for a keg and false bottom, if anyone knows where I can dig one up! :D

Well, that..............and the fact that I enjoy brewing a bit! :D

Nice avatar pic of Nik Lidstrom, by the way! :ban:

I was going to use this other one, but then I thought if I did that, people might think I was gay or mistake me for a lady brewer...

Holy cow- I've never seen that picture. I am madly and irrevokably in love. Well, at least in lust. :D

PS- don't tell Bob that when you are holding a handful of leaf hops to add during continous additions to hold them tightly when you're standing in front of a fan. He now knows. :drunk:

So, was there blood shed in the making of this brew?

No, and we're still basically speaking to each other. We will never be brewing partners, though. I told him that I was considering hiring him on permanently, and he responded with an obscenity. I think that means he's thinking about it.

How can someone NOT enjoy making beer??

I mean, it's chemistry, biology, and intoxicology all rolled into one!

Bob said, "It's too much like work".

He did tell me that even when we're doddering elderly folks that we have to continue making beer and wine- as we've become addicted to good beer and wine but only have a Natty Light and Carlo Rossi budget.

Last night he held me and whispered, "Oh, honey, I hope you feel better soon." I think he's so he doesn't have to brew any more! :drunk:

Oh, and I have to tell you that Bob was less than impressed by this photo, except he pointed out that he's "not bad for over 40 years old".

(I quoted you again, just to see this photo pop up again.)

Well, Bob ain't too bad for his age either. At least he hasn't started falling apart like his old lady.

But hey, as long as you can cast a line and hang a deer, right?

Our library has that! I just placed it "on hold" for me to pick up soon. Thank you so much!

I hope you start feeling better soon Yooper. And remember: RDWHAHB and then some! Kind of gives new meaning to the term doesn't it... Wishing you the best and hoping you are back on your feet soon!

Did I spell it wrong?
RDWHAHB - "relax, don't worry, have a home brew" correct?

Well what I mean is: RDWHAH and life will be back to normal (or close to it) before you know it. (maybe I should have said that in the first place...) :mug:

This was my attempt at being positive, optimistic, and encouraging mixed with a bit of humor...

Anyways, point being get better soon, and I hope in the mean time it doesn't hurt too much!
