Then why not just use warrior?

It's similar not exactly the same, I prefer the taste over warrior, I find it to be for lack of a better explanation "more intense" in the orange flavor and aroma. I sub Warrior when Summit isn't available though.

Yikes, variety is the spice of life... only 5 hops... Well, here are my top hops.

1) EKG
2) Cascade
3) Hallertauer
4) Perle
5) Willamette

1.Centennial
2.Hallertau
3.EKG
4.Magnum
5.Simcoe

I figure I could brew a decent example of just about anything with these 5 (except maybe pils but I don't do many lagers).

Cascade
Crystal
Chinook
Spalt Select
Magnum

Amarillo is runner-up, followed by Willamette.

Cascade
Warrior
Simcoe
Tettnanger
Perle

With these, I can brew most any of my beers below. I just may have to adjust the amounts.

trigger said:
Summit - my #1 favorite hop
Amarillo - approaching perfection
Simcoe - getting there
Sorachi Ace - it's like putting a lemon in your beer without putting a lemon in your beer
Willamette - universal Euro hop

Thank you for the summit love, I was starting to feel like the only one.

Interesting. My absolute favorite that I listed ended up being the most popular, and though I'm a bit surprised at that (I knew it would be popular, but I didn't figure it'd be MOST popular), obviously I can understand why! Centennial is just amazing.

And perhaps even more interesting is that, despite my absolute favorite coming in #1 with 20 votes, EACH of the other 4 varieties I chose to "keep" only have one other person who also chose them (2 votes each).

1) Simcoe
2) Simcoe
3) Simcoe
4) Simcoe
5) Simcoe

Just kidding:
Simcoe and Centennial for all the american style ales (wet, fresh centennial is the BEST!)

After that? Man, I dunno, just pick three fancy Euro hops so I can make a nice Quad.

#1. Willamette - for its versatility in almost all ale styles
#2. Columbus - My go to high alpha bittering and has the most unique aroma
#3 Centennial - my favorite flavoring hop for the spicy/citrus character
#4 Cascade - This one to me, is all citrus and an integral hop for american pale and india pale
#5 Chinook - Arrogant Bastard Clones - need I say more?

i changed my initial pics on the original post, as my taste are always changing.

1. Chinook
2. Summit
3. Cascade
4. Columbus
5. Citra

Amarillo and Nugget where close behind.

1. Centennial - greatest hop of them all.
2. Willamette
3. EKG
4. Fuggles
5. Hallertau

1. Columbus (for bittering)
2. Amarillo
3. Centennial
4. Citra
5. Simcoe

If I had to choose a single hop it would be Cascade because it's good by itself. I prefer combinations of the list above.

I almost listed Falconer's Flight, but I guess that would be seven hops with one pick. :)

1. Cascade . Great stuff!
2. Summit . Orangy!
3. Centennial . Fun and delicious!
4. Amarillo . Unique!
5. Chinook . Dank!

There you have it. I obviously love IPAs

Cascade
Citra
Fuggle
Czech saaz
Styrian goldings

Saisons, ipas, apas, stouts, browns, I think these five allow a lot of styles open to brew.
