I am sure that I am not the first dumba$$ to do this but . . .

Last season, I planted two hop bines. The grew well, and they are both taking off really well this year. I know that I planted one Cascade and another of Fuggles; however, I have forgotten which is which.

Any methods for identifying them by leaf shape, vigor, etc.? One is growing far faster than the other.

You can identify them by the leaf....here is a great reference (with pictures) that should help: http://www.skotrat.com/skotrat/hops.cfm

Awesome! Great resource, and thanks for the link.

One is definitely Cascade, and the other is either Goldings or Fuggles. I should be able to tell by the density of the cone, then. It appears that Cascade's cone structure is rather dense while both Goldings and Fuggles have very light and loose cones. I should be able to tell later this year when (if) I get some cones on the bines.

'til then . . . I will keep worrying about it. :mug:
