Here's the system that has served me well for 20 years:

After a session, before you go to bed: drink enough water (or preferably Gatorade) so that you pee twice. If you can swing that - you're home free.

Works with everything but whiskey. (Whiskey - she no like me).

You mean alcohol can dehydrate you and cause hangovers? GROUND BREAKING!

That's how I've always done it when I didn't have access to a drink that hydrates better than water (such as sports drinks). If you do have a drink like that, you won't need to drink as much of it and it is guaranteed to prevent you from getting a hangover. I remember times where I had a ridiculous amount of alcohol (for example: 10 drinks), which would normally guarantee that you would get a major hangover, but I drank one or two sports drinks that I had in my fridge and woke up with no hangover whatsoever.
