Yes, all orders were filled!!! It was like pulling teeth getting the last couple pints picked, but got them!! And, of course there will be room for you on the ark. Just bring 2 of something, a couple pigs would be nice. Bacon, gotta have bacon. :rockin:

Ok all just got in from fishing. Got off work at noon and was on water by 1:45 pm by 2:05 was dead in the water by the hrbt in Norfolk . ( for those who are have never been in Norfolk VA it is a bridge that goes into a tunnel that leads to hampton VA which jams up all the time with out of town drivers just drive 55 ya it is a tunnel) so what to do fish while we wait
For the engine to cool.

Almost 12 hours later I drank 10 h/b got a sunburn. And 10 Crocker.

Terrifying is not a word I would have thought of to describe it. With the water level so high, it's hard to see the swirls, they will be more pronounced when the water level goes down. This sinkhole leads to an underground river. Divers have been here with scuba gear and there is a video somewhere on youtube of their explorations.

Ya, that whirlpool IS terrifying! Hope you dry out soon, and sorry about the short berry season.

I found this video. This is the same sinkhole I showed pictures of. The exact same spot on our property as in some of my pics but video taken years ago. They call it black hole swallet because it goes to an underground river/tunnel thing.

Ahhh. When you said whirpool I was thinking more of a siphon to the gates of hell type whirpool.

Not a great video, and I guess not really an underground river, but a cave/tunnel thing. Anyway the divers filmed this little clip last year when they went down into the hole.

I built a new PC this morning, finally got mostly everything working, all software re-installed, hardware mostly working, etc. Woot. Also went biking, got caught in one of our summer storms (which usually show up in the afternoon here).

BobbiLynn - those blackberries look great. I've got a small row of raspberries in my yard that are just about done for the season, got a freezerful of berries from them. Wild blueberries are up and running in the sunny hilly areas now, and there are some good blackberry patches up in Central Mass. but they won't start producing until late July to August, and they aren't nearly as big as the ones you get but still mighty tasty. We're having a good berry season all around up here.

So, apparently my roof should produce about 180 gallons of water per inch of rainfall from the two downspouts I can put catch barrels under. Now I just need to figure out how much capacity in the catch barrels I need...

So, apparently figuring out how big of a collection tank you need is rather complicated. I think I'll just convert another trash can for the other rain barrel and see how that works. I'm just wanting to displace some garden irrigation water.

Looks like they recently passed a couple laws to relax personal rain water harvesting.

Some towns that rely solely on groundwater often have wells that are 500+ feet deep.

Ironically, water is still cheap. It is just rare here.

My dad is from western Wisconsin, just across the river from the Twin Cities. I grew up a Twins fan. Kirby Puckett was great (though he turned out to be an ******* later in life).

They're still my favorite team, mainly since Arizona didn't have a team until I was older.
