Where is Revvy? I haven't seen posts from him since I came back? And where did Yooper's dominatrix avie go?

I just checked up on Revvy, he's still posting. His last was today. Don't know about Yooper Got to admit the only time I"m on HBT lately I post here, on this thread.

Sure they're both still around. They are a foundation of this forum.

Yooper changes her avatars out, seems like quarterly. Sometimes she's a Dominatrix and next some grisly bearded old man or football player. I have no who any of them are but it's pretty important to Yooper.

It's probably obvious to most..just not to me. :mug:

Sigh I got some more work to do I guess. I had a stuck sparge and the silly dang braid worked its self up in the mash. I know I had way to much flour but the braid working its way up sucks.

On the bright side I hit all my efficiency points with only adding a half pound of base malt. Well I think that was all I added :D

I read that thread a while back, very funny. Reminds me of a friend that passed several years back. We called him "Old Man Frank". 90-something when he passed. He was pissed when they wouldn't let him use vehicle seats in his yard for extra seating around the fire pit. I loved him dearly. Used to sit on the porch with him and he'd tell me war stories, etc. And swat mosquitoes off me. Rolled up newspaper, hitting me with it, telling the mosquitoes "Leave my friend alone!" Didn't hit hard, just enough to swat the bug. I miss him...

See, that is the sad side of over-entitled. They dont even realize that they are slaves. They need to support some very bad people and ideas for their survival and security. Breaks my heart.

Ah, you had feared a stuck sparge, all that flour. I guess the rice hulls didn't prevent it from happening. :(

Me too BobbiLynn. Been like that forever though. Probably not going to change. Only thing a person can do about it is how they handle it.

How about servants, indentured servants to royalty? They made an honorable society consisting of their own values including rules and a sense of worth. Eff any ahole who doesn't see the value in his fellow man. Not sure how to change that opinion other than be a real person with honor. Nobody can take that away no matter how important they are.

I didn´t read trougth all the thread but for the little I read I think it was a good thing for the OP... he can get out of the closet later and sober if we wasn´t trolling.

Completely agree, but glad he at least temporarily got some things off his chest(well, unless just trolling like you said). If it was true, poor guy and glad to see he will remain anonymous. Sending kind thoughts his way if it was all true.

Added: Also perfect example of things that happen "this time at night"!
 
A couple pages ago in this topic I mentioned money trouble. Sent my nephew to get a load of manure for the compost pile(we haul it away from the horse farm for them for free... in other words free manure for us). And the farm we get it from wants to buy a tractor and several other things. We have so much extra stuff piled up, hubby is a hoarder, that we can sell without leaving ourselves short on anything. Who really needs 8 tractors? Hubby just liked to collect them. Don't want to see one go either, but really, just let it go. So groceries showed up(was family) and now money dropped in our laps. Life is good.
 
Hey Dan, looks like you are off to a good start on your cheese making adventure. I have been reading up on the processes involved and am planning on trying it once I get a few other issues sorted out. I'm kind of lucky in that I know enough guys that are still milking that I can get raw milk right from the farm. Holsteins predominate, but still some Guernsey and Jersey herds around too. There is even a guy just north of town that milks sheep. So plenty of different raw ingredients to fuel the process.
Keep us updated on your progress!

Speaking of good food, watching "Moonshiners" on Discovery channel and saw an ad for a new? show... "United States of Bacon". A show all about bacon... bacon hotdogs, bacon pizza, bacon and eggs, bacon apple pie...

Had to figure that was coming eventually. I must admit, I very rarely eat bacon. I like it and all, but I find good ribs to be MUCH better than bacon.

That's great! Although I live in dairy land (lovely smell) I don't have access to raw milk. I was just reading yesterday that sheep's milk is high in protein and vitamins and produces two and a half times more cheese than cow's or goat's milk. It also takes less rennet, less salt, the curds can be cut larger and less pressure is used.

Sounds like you are in a win-win situation!

I guess you are in the land of the mega-dairies. Although there are also more small dairies in California than any other state also. They may be in a different part of the state, but you could always call the county Extension office to see if you could get any info on any smaller operations in the area. Maybe you could do a beer for milk swap. :)

I need another hobby like I need a hole in my head, but cheesemaking has always interested me.
 
No tricks. Peanut butter and bacon sandwich is delicious. I don't kid when it comes to bacon and peanut butter. :mug:

BTW, not that I want to laugh and snortle at somebody making a fool of them-self drunk. That would be like the pot calling the kettle black. But just out of curiosity which thread BL?

When I was younger, I used to make peanut butter and bacon bit sandwiches. Everyone thought I was crazy. I got one of my friends to try it and he went home and asked his Mom if they could have that for dinner. She called and complained to my parents about it. I haven't had one in many moons. I'll have to make one and see if they're still as magical as I remember.
 
My wheat IPA I brewed yesterday. Good thing I put it in my big 8 gallon carboy.

My buckets are all 6.5 gallon puto. This is fermented with 1010, there's no way a bucket will hold it back even if I left the lid completely off.

I got this off eBay, an "acid" carboy, which as far as I can tell means that it has threads.
