I can just see Stauff relaxing at home in his Bell's Inspired Brewing Forever Lazy Adult Onesie.

My SWMBO *really* wants one of these (size X-Small). I'm not sure if I should tell her it came from a brewing forum.

I've got a 7 for serving and a 15 for fermenting. I need 2 more: one for lagering, and one to use as an actual freezer for food.

Hhh, screw it. I need two more for beer.

Coincidentally, the 20# CO2 tank in the 15cuft freezer came from Beaks. Thanks!

Welcome PP. Thanks guys.;) I use a fridge for lagering(pic.) I need to post pics of my temp controlled ale chamber. I use a dehumidifier on a duct board box I built around a wire rack shelf which holds 8. ( taking down my old shed so I have lawn equipment and junk in front of it)

Raining every afternoon down here - monsoon season. Beaks knows. You guys up north, and especially out west, have no idea how much rain you can get in a month until you've lived in Florida. The cool thing is that it will be absolutely clear and hot all day, then out of nowhere clouds appear, the torrent comes, and an hour later it's clear and sunny again. I like it because it keeps the jungle behind me thick with palms and bamboo, and my gardenia and magnolia trees blossom their ultra-fragrant blossoms and the place is alive.

For your late nite soundtrack, some Lovin Spoonful. I used to listen to them a lot, and this short tune always made me happy.

The airlocks in the fridge in the pictures do not have the little lids. I suppose the lids are not necessary. Now I am wondering why I use them at all? It'd be easy to add liquid to the lock without fighting the little lids. Hmmm.

It's easier to fill them. In a couple of day I will be racking them into kegs. I have 1 empty and need to drink another empty. The problem with only having 28 five and three 3 gallon kegs is I always seem to need one more;)

My back yard Table is normally 15 feet from the water and about 3 ft lower

Here's my upland game stick.

1964 Miroku O/U Ordered in 1963 (first year of production) by my grandmother as a gift for my grandfather. It's a Superior Grade, but was special ordered with minimal engraving instead of the usual fully engraved plates.

Oh and that's my India Brown Ale. It's almost bedtime.

Both are beautiful.

Picking up where I left off last night with the Woodstock bands. :mug:

Stauffbier, glad to hear all went well, besides the ill fit, hopefully the pain won't last long. I'm sure you will love the new chompers once this stage of it is over.

Which brings up my next issue. When he was born he inherited his grandfathers 20ga side by side. It's a beauty of an old shotgun. The problem is, that grandfather is my ex-wife's dad. And the shotgun is in his gun case. He's getting up there in years, and I don't think he'll be hunting past this year. Is it weird to ask him for it? I'm sure he knows it won't be for anyone else. I've got my fair share or vintage and modern firearms that far surpass it. Just something I've been pondering. How would y'all go about it?

Tough question. When hubby first got sick, his family started coming around asking for things that they had been promised and it offended me. Though it did make me keep note of things that were not for sale when we needed the money for his care. Probably just talk to him and get on the subject of getting your boy his first gun, ask him what he thinks about your choice and hope that he brings up the subject. If everyone in the family knows it's promised to your son, than no need to bring up the subject. Could offend some.

Today, we got a permit to catch the (hopefully)last alligator in our lake. And yes, we are allowed to humanely kill it and eat it. A friend came over to help me set out the bait this afternoon.

Tonight I am drinking a "beer" I started a while back using my leftover ingredients, a hodge-podge of ingredients. I wish I would have kept notes because I really like it. First sip, you think sour, but then other flavors hit your tastebuds and yum. :mug:

Luckily it's not nearly that bad. The bottoms are just off center.

D@mn I'm hungry!! I am NOT a soup kind of guy. I sure hope I can eat solid foods soon!![/QUOTE

Glad all went well. I see the "doggie denture commercial":D

I make my own egg noddles and the flour from rolling them out tends to thicken it, I prefer it more like stew still soft though;)

I made a big batch of chicken soup tonight (actually over 2 days, crock pot). Just pitched the egg noodles. My family used to make all their own pasta. I need to start doing that.

LG, I'm sure you're a great guy, but man, I can't get into your music.

I will thank you for posting what you did, it made me look up KMFDM on YouTube which led to this long forgotten and much loved jem. I used to crank this til my car speakers blew. Pretty sure I wrecked one listening to this when I was younger.

I need a beat like this. Help me folks!

Time to buy the boy his first shotgun. I'm not a big fan of starting people off with 410's, because its so stinking hard to hit with. My boy however. Isn't the broadest fellow. Standing at 4'5" and 46lbs, I just don't think he can handle more than a .410. He's recently begun to get down on himself about his size and lack of strength. He really has nothing to worry about. I'm 6'3", my brother is 6' and his uncle is 6'1".

Here's Dawson with his first solo bass. From plastic selection to tying the hook and selecting the weight, it was all him. I was actually drinking an IPA next to the pool while he was wading out casting. Caught it on a pumpin/red 5" lizard. Carolina jig.

I'm with BL on this one. Bring the subject up, and see if the fish bites. :)

Has anybody made a stir plate in here? I've just about got mine all planned out, but my fan spins counterclockwise and I'm wondering if that is going to make a difference. Coriolis effect etc... I could flip the fan over I know, but that would put the inch thick fan between the flask and the magnets I dug out of the old hard drive.

Here are the components I'm planning on using for my stir plate. The housing is from an old hard drive enclosure. It's busted. The lead from the housing is for the power indicator for the old enclosure.

Here's what I was thinking:

1. Glue magnets onto fan.
2. Cut out circular hole in aluminum housing for fan air flow.
3. Drill holes for fan mounting screws.
4. Drill and tap holes for feet. Need to find something to make feet out of.
5. Mount fan, with grill to cover fan blades.
6. Drill hole in face plate for speed control knob. Attach speed control knob.
7. Thread power connector through old hole for power. Install wire grommet so connector won't pull back out through hole.
8. Wire existing power switch and led in.
9. Connect power and speed control molex connectors. Screw housing together.

I'm still kicking around with how exactly to mount the fan. It's going to be a pita no matter how I do it.

I don't think the direction is going to matter any. But what do I know, I have less than eight dollars in a *#&@ rigged stir plate and that includes the stir bar. My magnet seems weak though, is there a difference in the strength hard drive magnets depending on what they came out of?

Huh, not sure. There would be between a 2.5 and 3.5 drive. 2.5" is what's in a laptop. The larger 3.5 desktop drives should have stronger magnets.

That's a point though. I think I've got another hard drive I could scavenge and stack them, if it's a problem.....

That pretty aluminum housing is going to be a pita to mount anything into. Maybe I should just find a cigar box.

The magnet is out of a notebook. So it's the smaller size but it fits well on my little fan. 80mm I believe. Maybe some day I'll put some actual effort into a nice stir plate.

The fan above is an 80mm. The magnets are a little hard to see. They are stuck together below the fan. They are out of a desktop hard drive.

I was making a mix drink. I found some jasmine flavoring in my cabinet. I put some in the drink. Not a good idea. It's a bit like drinking laundry detergent.
