Well, the sight of this inspired the title. Seriously, found a little trick to drain the grain bags on extract brewing by simply hanging them from a cabinet knob or two. :tank:

I use that same method too! Works incredibly well! Also, to squeeze as much wort out of the grains as possible, I'll squeeze the grain bag between two cutting boards. It works ok. Better than getting scalding wort all over your hands.

opinions all over the board on this one - but I stopped squeezing my grain bag years ago and just rinse the bag with 165F water. Again, personal opinion, but the homebrew "twang" went away when I stopped squeezing the grains - that and paid more attention to temp control. So yeah, it could be the temp thingy - change too many variables and you don't know which one did the trick, y'know?
