I wonder why the FDA won't support herbal remedies, when extracts can be easily standardized and clinical testing shouldn't be any different than testing pharmaceuticals... Not a conspiracy theory, just curious. When I have a sore throat I crush a massive amount of garlic on some toast and the symptoms are typically gone within 12-24 hours. Herbs are highly affective.

Do you think the effects would be dimminished if you roasted the garlic?

Seriously, I'm more than happy to eat roasted garlic on a baggette next time I have a cold... it might help and it will be delicious.

I personally feel like it's better raw, but it may not. All I know is I don't get the garlic sweats from garlic when it's cooked, but when I do it raw it's a whole different experience. I love garlic though so eating it raw is no big deal. The wife may disagree ;)

Supposedly a lot of the antimicrobial benefits of garlic are lost when you cook it. Try it cooked, but if it doesn't work it may have to be raw. Also, fresh crushed garlic will kill MRSA skin infections too.

But now that I got that out, what I WILL say is this: I drink New York City tapwater daily and frequent subway platforms... I feel pretty confident that minute levels of mercury arent going to be what takes me down when taken once a year...

Man you will have the strongest immune system drinking NYC water haha.
I brew with it too.

Got an email yesterday from the secretary in one of our other offices, informing us that they are organizing a flu shot clinic in each office so we don't have to leave work to get one.

I've seriously debated emailing her back and telling her if she gets anywhere NEAR me with a flu shot, I'm stabbing her in the eye with it.

As an administrative professional who seriously dislikes being called a secretary (read, I would roast a marshmellow over the subject while they were shrieking "IM ON FIRE HELP ME!"), I'd respond to your threat of violence with one of my own.

haha yes they're playing up the 'free flu shot' where I'm at too, they tricked me into it once many years back, never again. One note on the roasted garlic vs raw, I've noticed that if I eat a clove of raw garlic, I can smell it in my urine the next day, whereas with cooked/roasted, I do not. I don't know what that means for sure but I like to share hahaha.
