Been browsing for a while, thought I would go ahead and register and say hello.

Name's Tyler.....just started my first brew last Saturday after a good friend of mine gave me all of his equipment for free. Since I didn't really know what I was doing a spent a week or two reading everything I could get my hands on and finally went to the beer store to get my ingredients. Since I was a first timer, the guy at the shop rounded up all the ingredients that I needed for a beer similar to Ziegen Bock and off I went. The first time was a bit intimidating since I am a stickler for following things axactly as they say, but I think it will turn out great.

Anyway, howdy from Texas and I hope to learn a ton from you guys.

Cool. Lived down there for a few years. Wifey worked at Memorial Hermann in the medical center.

I have been there a few times. I work at MD Anderson Cancer Center right now. :mug:

Nice area, except when it floods......

Tell me about it. I was walking in chest deep water on Braeswood trying to get to my car when Allison hit.

Yep. Hearing all the stories of people having to swim out of the basement at Memorial was pretty scary.

I can say I really don't miss Houston weather (or traffic) :D

I hear that. Luckily my place is about 30 seconds from my office. :D I'll never commute again.

Yeah, that's always nice. We lived up in The Woodlands for a while and our apartment was one block away from my office. I miss those days.....

Ended up buying a home in Champion's Forest, so never had that short commute again :(

Woodlands is nice, but I'll never live there. Too far from everything I enjoy.

BTW- DeFalcos beer and wine store is about 4 minutes from my place. SCORE.:rockin:

It's a great town for families etc. However, I was 22 and fresh out of college when I moved there in 2002. Wasn't a whole lot of fun things to do up there.
