so getting into brewing my own brew is now finally a reality for me. its just as cool as i thought it would be. got one batch batch brewed and mostly drank. working on the second one now.
of course, as i learn more about it i have more worries as to what could be going wrong.
so here i am looking for answers, and finding them bigtime. what a great message board! all this is going down in a cheap apartment in sherman, tx.
pretty soon, i should be making a pretty decent beer

Welcome, and relax. Don't over think the process. Just make sure your sanitization procedures are good and leave the rest up to nature. I brew in a 490 sq. ft. condo and consistently make clean beers. This forum is a great resource and there are a lot of experienced brewers that are more than willing to help out should the need arise. Again, welcome and happy brewing!

hey thanks for the warm welcome. lots and lots of good info here. one of the better forums i have found on any topic actually. after reading through the rookie section last night i feel like i have a way better handle on the situation. saw that i was maybe doing a few things wrong, but doing a whole lot of things right as well. i actually feel pretty pumped about the idea of trying to harvest and use some of the yeast over again. what a cool idea. i have always been very strongly a do it yourself sort of guy and a fan of science. and who doesnt like beer? add it up and you get one satisfying pastime. i'll post again soon as i have something worth contributing
