Just purchased a Pale Ale kit from my LHBS and the recipe is not quite what I am used to seeing:
Dumping the DME into cold water and dissolve,
Add specialty malts, set burner for medium/high and afterr 20 min, bring to a boil then remove malts.
Add bittering hops and boil for 35 min.
Add finishing hops and boil for 2 min.
All other recipies that I have done with specialty malts have called for seeping at ~150 for 20 min, removing, bring to a boil and then adding extract continuing to boil and doing the hop additions.
What are your thoughts on this recipe?
