I have been wrong before and may be now but as far as I am aware, you cannot have 2 harvests from a plant in the same year.

However, you could grow different varieties that are ready for harvest at different times.

I had 2 last year on my cascades, the later harvest had more

Get a tall enough ladder, hand pick, instead of cutting down the bine. If you have long enough a growing season, you can get two harvests.

I don't want to be on a ladder for the harvest, as it interferes with having a beer while picking... :)

Last year I cut down my Chinook plant to harvest and it grew a new set of bines and cones before dieing back. Note: I live in a place has no winter and gets more than 300 days of sun per year... This equates to a very long growing season.

I've also read that you can cut off the side arms with cones and the side arms will grow back. I will test this theory this year.

I am growing hop seedling indoors since october 2014. They grow and regrow a lot of sidearms. So far, I have seen up to 10 sidearms regrowing from the same node. When you cut the main bine head, then cut the 2 side arms, they grow 4 sidearms... if you cut them again, 4 new sidearms will grow. They are incredible. :)

Here is a picture of a cutting that I am rooting in water. You can see the previous sidearms and new ones coming out.
