I have seen measurement of 15" but I am wondering if this is to top of handle or top of keg itself. I have a cube cooler I want to make into a jockey box with keg in it and I have about 16" clearance so if it's to top of handles then I should be able to fit disconnects on it and still fit in cooler.

So if anyone has one can please verify for me?
Thanks

I have one Italian made 2 1/2 gallon keg with the tall rubber handles, to go with all my 5 gallon kegs. Usually I reserve that one for cider. Anyway I just measured it and it measures 14 5/8 inches from the bottom of the keg, to the top of the handles.

Include additional height for the disconnects and tubing. It usually rises above the handle, probably 2 inches I can measure if you want.

I am hoping that with rubber handles it's 15" therefore hopefully on a ball lock the disconnects won't go much above the handles if at all and also hoping on tube bending without kinks. If not I will just find different cooler. The one I found was at a thrift store and is in like new condition and was only $10.

If you're worried about disconnect height, there's always the torpedo disconnects at MoreBeer or the stainless disconnects at KegConnection. A bit more expensive, but the disconnects are shorter, come off at 90deg, and should last a freaking lifetime.

I would buy it for 10 bucks!

But the disconnect sits a little above the rubber handle, and the disconnect is angled so the hose goes up. On mine, the highest point of the tubing is about 2 inches above the rubber handle.

I just re-read it - you found the cooler for $10, not the keg for $10.

You're planning on putting the keg in the cooler and then attaching a tap to the outside of the cooler?

The slimline and standard Torpedo kegs on Morebeer Have their height listed. For a in the cooler build I would considerr one of these as they have no rubber. The rubber bases inevitably come loose and you will likely fill them with water along a crack. When that happens they get gross quickly in my experience. Especially when you flip them over to dry.

I have have about 8 of the torpedo slimlines (1.5 and 2.5)and love them.

Yes, the keg would be in the cooler with ice all around it. I have a paintball tank w/adapter I could fit inside also or most likely will mount on outside and there will be a tap on front. Unfortunately it's not a rolling cube but something one person could carry short distance. May get like a luggage dolly.
