Hi. I've put a couple of brews in bottles and now set myself up for kegging. Ive read so much about the need to protect against oxygenisation and watched so many closed transfer videos. I have a Grainfather G30 fermenter and will be using corny kegs. Obviously I have limited (nil) expertise in using gas and the equipment/lines that come with that. But I am practising with water to make sure that on the day of transfer from fermenter to keg I am confident that I can pull it off without much bother. Here's the thing; I have two ways of doing the pressure closed transfer from fermenter to keg. 1) via the dual outlet tap in the bottom of the fermenter (applying gas pressure at the top) or using the Grainfather closed transfer kit with racking pipe at the top of the fermenter. . My problem is selecting the right fittings to connect either of those with the keg. The range of fittings that I view at the online retaliers really confuses me. The GF outlet tap takes a 12.5mm fluid tube (OD ~16) and the racking pipe at the top of the ferementer takes a 7.9mm tube (OD10.7).
What do I need in terms of fittings (reducers, barb connecters etc to get either of these into my keg via the fluid disconnect. I've added some pics. (ps I live rurally and about 5 hours from a local homebrew suppy retailer, so need to use the online option).
Thanks in anticipation. Bruce
