Alright, stupid question. What is the smallest amount you can mini- mash? I am revising my Belgian blond for the third time, and I am dropping my specialty grain from 12 oz ( Belgian Biscuit) to 9 oz. I typically steep these grains, and I thought I would get some sugar out of it, as well as cut down a bit on my base malt ( Briess Pilsen light dme) to have for my starter. Also, would this change my color and flavor profile( steeping vs mini- mash).

As little as you want, but you're going to have a hard time maintaining a constant mash temperature with very small mashes. A small mass of liquid/grains will cool off quickly and it's nigh impossible to add heat consistently to a small mash.

Thank you for the input. I did some research and I think I'm going to step up to partial-mash. I'll convert 5 pounds of grain ( biscuit included) and the rest extract.
