I am planing on cold steeping coffee for my coffee milk stout. So i have been reading back thru old threads and it seems like 2 to 6 cups of ground coffee at at 1:3 or 1:4 coffee to water ratio is about what people have done. My questions is are people talking about 1 cup of coffee as in the measuring cup amount or the amount of coffee to make 1 regular cup of coffee to drink? Thanks in advance for helping clarify this for me.:mug:

I use 4oz of grounds for 5 gallons of wort and cold extract it 1:3. and its a definite coffee flavor, that i think is about right for a porter or similar. 2 to 6 cups of grounds seems insane. Are you sure thats not ounces?
