HOw loud is chest freezer?

I am building a dry bar in the closet of my media room. As a result, I would like to keep a 1/4 barrel under the bar and run a line to a bartop tower. It seems my only option may be a small chest freezer. However, i am concerned about the noise since i watch movies, etc 15 feet away. Are these noisy when kepi in a warm closet? Im thinking something like this:

Don't know the exact db, but my chest freezers are both quiet enough that there is no problem carrying on a conversation when both are running. Lifting a 1/4 barrel into a chest freezer won't be easy and poor ventilation will make the freezer run more often.

They are not loud and if you run a temp controller on your keezer it will only turn on every once in a while. You should be fine. If you are really concerned, go to a home depot or lowes and have them plug in a display model for you and actually hear how loud the compressor is.

Yes. I have a Real Time Analyser. I have my keezer in my Theater Room and tested to see what the Sound levels would be. Whirlpool 15 cubic foot freezer, 3 years old. The click of the temp controller is actually louder than teh compressor at start-up. Albeit for a split second.

The ones I have measured at HD and Lowes are not big enough. I will go look at Sears. Any suggestions for integrating it into the closet bar? I would like to make it an under cabinet, but since the top opens upwards, that is a problem. Perhaps cut the bar top at the freezer and mount the bar top to the top of the freezer (hoping it looks fairly seamless)?

You won't hear it during movies...I had my keezer less than ten feet away in my living room (I live alone, small apartment...woman is expected to deal with it lol) and I had zero issues with it being too loud. Plus, if you are like me, your movies are played LOUD!

My movies used to be loud. However, a 3 year old and 2 month old have sapped that enjoyment. Now, when they are out of the house, that is another story!

Quick question: If the freezer is in a closet, pushed up against the back drywall (clearly poor ventilation in a closet), will I need to run a fan? I don't want to burn the unit up.

A fan wouldn't be a bad idea. I think it would help the compressor last longer. Sounds like you'll be doing some construction anyway, so adding a little work to fit a fan in there shouldn't be too bad.

You don't know the half of it...

Any particular type of fan? I obviously want something quiet. Should it be temp controlled (on/off at a certain temp)/ If so, what temp?
