I just thought I would ask. It has probable been done before but....

I have been brewing since 1998 or 1999. For the first 8 or 9 years is was all DME/LME with small amounts of specialty grains. It seems that I sort of flat-lined in the amount of knowledge I had until I started lurking this sight. If I could put a number on it I would say I have increased my knowledge 100-fold over what I learned from my LHBS/books/coworkers. You guys are great.

Well just had to look, and its been just over a year now.. Brewed my first batch on March 18th 2007.

first batch of beer was bottled April 9th 2007. but I've played around with fermenting things since freshmen year in high school (2000).

Sometime around 1981 or 1982. It was back in those college years and things are a bit hazy. Sorry but I experimented in my youth!

Damn, I have been brewing longer then some of you have been alive. I think I will go take a nap now!

winter of 04. a kit showed up on my porch, from my little brother in the navy, and i've not looked back since.

Boy, this would have been early in my grad school days, probably 1986. I'd brew 2-3 batches a year, extract plus specialty grains. This went on until 2000, then I went down to a batch a year. I got tired of bottling. In 2005 I got a CO2 set up to serve beer at our annual pig roast. Then I started to keg, went all grain and now brew 20 batches a year

Since 1987. 5 year sabbatical in Germany (no need). 7 year sabbatical in Alabama & Texas till I started again with Apelwein and then again with a renewed passion in 06 (thanks to chest freezers with controllers).

September 1993 for me, without hiatus (although I slowed down quite a bit during law school and Dixie Cup planning). I need to figure out to brew for the 15th anniversary.
