Never tried to ferment kombucha before. I'm wondering if this looks ok? I'm concerned because the starter tea I used had fruit juice in it. I've always read that you should start with raw kombucha. Also, the green tea I used had ginger in it. This pic is a week and three days into the fermentation process. How am I doing?

Give it a taste. Starting to get vinegary at all?
As I’m sure you already know, you want starter Kombucha tea that is not flavored at all. Plus the tea you brew should probably be basic black or green tea. Otherwise you’ll get some funky flavors.

Ok. See, that's what I though. I really know very little about all this. The starter tea I used isn't what I really want. I can't find unflavored anywhere. I'll probably get some off line. Thanks for the responses everyone. Time to try again.

There’s a ton of good info online about making Kombucha. It’s actually pretty easy.
You can use plain Lipton black tea and cheap ass white sugar if you’re on a budget. But yeah try to get some Kombucha starter tea that’s unflavored. Or get a scoby.
