Tūī were famous for their “Yeah Right” billboards. Some cleverer than others. It’s over the hill from here and is actually no longer a brewery, just a cafe and function centre. Thanks to our new Dutch overlords.
They used to win awards for their NZ lager( adding cane sugar to the wort is what makes it a nz lager). Except they never called it a lager, the called it an east India pale ale of all things. The national beer competition changed its rules, you couldn’t win an award in a style if you called your beer a different style. Also a notable offender was the dopplebock winter ale.
Moa is more about marketing than beer, so probably deserved the original jab.
