Hello all! I've used this forum for a little over a year (since I started brewing) and been a silent lurker/learner! Well, I finally built a 3 vessel HERMS system and bought a Hosehead 5BC to control things. I haven't done a brew yet, been leak testing and so forth. I've used the Hosehead to heat water for cleaning and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. That said, while at first it seems pretty simple and straight forward, I think this thing can do much more than simply controlling the on-off switches of my elements and pumps. I see features like Load BeerXML and I guess that means I can load my recipe from Beersmith or Brewersfriend and it will automate the process somewhat. I loaded one but I don't see that it's really "done" anything. I was kind of expecting a "brew" button or something and then some temperature monitoring and timers to be prompting me...am I just wishful thinking? Does anyone have any beginners tips on how to use Elsinore?
Thanks,
Randy
