A new app has just been launched on the Apple app store called Hopularity. It is an IBU calculator with hop storage management functionality. If you've ever been to the local homebrew store only to find out the hops you wanted to use for that special recipe you've been planning are not available or turn out to have a very different alpha acid content than you planned, then this app can help you plan around those inconveniences. Here's a list of features.

- Comprehensive hop schedule management to create on-the-fly hop schedules
- IBU calculator with editable alpha acid levels so you know exactly how much to buy on brew day
- Hop substitutions suggestions when the needed varieties are not available
- Editable hop database so you can add your own hop varieties
- Hop storage management for those who need to keep track of hops they already have
- You can save schedules for future reference or even email them to a friend

So check out Hopularity! This app is developed by Treeness, LLCL.

The BJCP Style Guidelines state the desired number of International Bittering Units (IBU) that are needed to obtain a balance between hopped bitterness and malt sweetness in a hopped beer style. Beers that don't taste sweet or bitter are considered to be balanced, although individual beer drinkers may percieve this differently.

Not sure what this has to do with the app. Did you post in the wrong thread?

I was just wondering where you were going with your post about BJCP guidelines. I thought you might have meant it for another thread. No biggie.

Cheers! :mug:
