brewing this evening, recipe calls for 1 oz German tradition hops at 60 min...I'm doing a full boil and have been reading up on all the opinions about 60-30-15-5, and how 30 might not even be necessary. any suggestions on how I should adjust my hoppage?

All of my recipes call for 1 oz of Northern Brewer at 60 at 8.5% AA. Then a noble German addition at 15 minutes. Hope that helps. :mug:

thanks, the recipe called for the 1oz at 60 minutes, but that was for a partial boil. i've been doing full boils and reading about how hops should be adjusted. i improvised and put 1/2 oz in at 60 and the other 1/2 oz at 15.

It's bubbling away now, blichman advised a blowoff even though the fermentor is 7gallons. i have a little over 5 in there so i improvised and just stuck an airlock on te blow off tube. i'm going to replace that with a stardard airlock when it quiets down, but as of now it doen't appear I'm going to overflow into the tube.

He's really sneaky! Do you see it coming up from the bottom near the dump valve.
