Hops - pellets vs dried cones?

A buddy of mine gave me some cascade hops he has grown and dried. What is the ratio of dried hops to pellets? If a recipe calls for 1 oz of pellets how much of the dried cones would I use for the same purpose? Thanks

The same weight

You'll get a larger volume of whole leaf versus pellets, but the weight is the same.

Also be aware dried cones with absorb quite a bit of your wort. You can put them in a muslin bag and squeeze it out at the end of your boil.

Yes, but that's for bittering units. Since most of the time the AAU isn't known anyway for homegrown hops, that's a non-issue.

I sometimes use whole leaf for what seems like smoother, a bit fuller flavor. But they sure do soak up some wort. I use a dual layer fine mesh strainer anyway, so I squeeze'em.
