I like ipa's so I am trying to learn about hops. There are three main descriptions one I can figure out. Citrus is going to be citrus tasting. The ones that arn't as clear to me are floral and spicey. I have never eaten a flower so what are some beers that I can buy that would be floral? Spicey screams hot sauce or very broad flavor because there are many spices so same deal what are some spicey beers?

I've had good success finding single-hop brews coming out of microbreweries at Bevmo and such lately; you could identify a hop that's spicy (Chinook comes to mind) and track a single-hop version of it down. I don't have any specific recommendations, though.

I also look up my hops at http://brew365.com/ when I'm trying to identify particular characteristics. That might help you identify hops with the characteristics you want to test out.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that site also has commercial beer examples listed for most of the common hop varieties, so it can also help you track down some beers to sample :).

I got an idea to try hop teas from Steeljan's youtube channel (). Basically, she boils a single hop for 15/5 minutes, cools it, and then adds it to a very low hopped beer that just has a little bittering hops.
