Hops and Deer problems?

Anyone have any experiences to relate as far as deer being a problem WRT eating hops bines?

One of the spots on the property I am considering is in a recent logging cut, with an old irrigation ditch running through it. Water is available without too much effort, and I have been considering setting the 'yard' (more of a 'place' really) there.

Anyone?

How about grasshoppers? Anyone have any experiences to relate. Bad year for them here this year.

They have never touched mine.

My experience with deer is that they love young sprouts and young leaves. The only way to deter them at my house is with chicken wire cages.

The resident herd has never bothered my hops. The prefer to chomp on our ornamentals...
